Once set up, /fire shows your progress towards financial independence including Coast FI, years to retirement, and milestone progress.
FI Number calculator
Use the guided calculator or enter your FI Number directly. The calculator uses a simple formula:
FI Number = Monthly Expenses × 12 ÷ Withdrawal Rate
Milestones & celebrations
Once your FI Number is set, milestones are based on your progress toward it: 10%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 90%, and 100%. When you update your net worth and cross a milestone, the bot sends a celebration.
